Sherlyn Low
Student Counsellor
About Sherlyn

Sherlyn is a dynamic and empathetic therapist with a combination of counseling skills and knowledge in change management.

Holding a degree in Health Sciences and as a Prosci Certified Change Practitioner, Sherlyn Low has developed a deep understanding of how change impacts people on both an individual and collective level. These expertise allow her to integrate change management principles into counselling practices. Her collaborative approach to counselling is rooted in a pluralistic framework, combining client-centered therapeutic techniques with practical strategies for managing change.

Whether working with individuals undergoing personal life transitions, stress related to work or education, or those navigating broader organisational changes, she offers a compassionate, structured, and empowering approach to help clients build resilience, adapt, and thrive in challenging environments.

Growing up in Malaysia, Sherlyn has been exposed to cross-cultural experiences since a very young age. She has spent over a decade of her life in New Zealand as well as Australia, and has always enjoyed meeting people from diverse backgrounds. She is particularly dedicated to addressing mental health stigma within the community and fostering a safe space where clients can feel heard and understood without judgment.

Currently pursuing her Masters in Counselling at the University of Auckland, Sherlyn is passionate about helping individuals navigate life’s challenges, mental health struggles, and personal growth. She offers therapy sessions in English, as well as Mandarin and Cantonese upon request depending on clients’ preferences.
