Supporting clients with managing stress, anxiety, low mood, chronic health conditions, low self-esteem, and grief.
Chamilka is a registered psychologist with the New Zealand Psychologists Board who has trained as a Health Psychologist through The University of Auckland. Born in Sri Lanka, Chamilka migrated to New Zealand with her family as a young child and has lived in Auckland most of her life.
Chamilka is passionate about supporting her clients to engage in therapy that is person-centered, trauma-informed, and holistic in its approach. She uses therapies such as Acceptance Commitment Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, Mindful Self-compassion, Solution-focused and Narrative therapies to support clients to focus on what is most important to them and live a meaningful life guided by their values. Chamilka has a special interest in cultural and Buddhist psychology and hopes to provide her clients with a culturally safe space to explore their emotional and spiritual needs. She also supports clients to work through life losses and grief.

Prior to practicing as a psychologist, Chamilka has worked across various healthcare services in the areas of Public Health, Health Promotion, Equity-based interventions, Medical Sciences and Health Coaching. She has worked with individuals, couples, and families in hospital, community, and home-based settings.
Outside of work, Chamilka enjoys spending time in nature, with family and friends and going for long walks with her Labrador Raya. She has also just joined a Latin dance class!
