Goldie Hamilton
Registered Intern Psychologist
Goldie has had several roles with Anxiety NZ over the past decade, including Helpline Manager and National Manager. She is now a Registered Intern Psychologist with the NZ Psychologists Board, working towards full registration as a Psychologist through her current internship with Anxiety NZ. She has a Master of Health Psychology from the University of Auckland and is completing her Psychologist training through Massey University.

Goldie has supported many people on their journey towards better mental health and wellbeing. From assisting callers on our 0800 ANXIETY Helpline, and providing nationwide community workshops, to professional training and supervision for mental health workers. Goldie also has varied healthcare knowledge and experience, from volunteering on ambulances in her youth, to supporting whānau and clients living with dementia.

Goldie enjoys connecting with people from different cultures and backgrounds. She has lived in four countries (France, South Africa, England, Israel) and has proactively developed her local cultural competency since moving to Aotearoa New Zealand in 2007.

Goldie is passionate about providing tailored support and empowerment. She draws from a range of evidence-based approaches, including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT), and Mindful Self-Compassion (MSC). Goldie takes a strengths-based person-centred approach, creating a safe and collaborative space for clients to reflect without judgement and work towards their therapeutic goals with compassionate guidance.
